The Villa Byron

Built over several years and completed in 2016, Pacifique on Pacific is the culmination of years of collecting and careful dedication of a master builder.

Carefully selected antique furniture, fixtures and fittings were collected over years to build into the home, bringing a feeling of character and worldliness that is remarkable in a brand new property.

Featured in the Design Files, Pacifique is a designer's heaven.  Sprawled over three distinct levels, each draws inspiration from the best of European styling - from Greek Villa, to French Provincial, to Scandinavian Industrial, coming together with a uniquely Australian touch.  The property is a work of art, having been built around the recycled and antique fixtures and fittings, including nine sets of matching antique doors from the Rockhampton Pub, 100 year old 6 inch hoop pine flooring from central QLD, matching antique wooden sash windows from a grand Murwillambah estate, an antique front door from Eastern Germany.  The list goes on...

The open kitchen has been lovingly built around the antique map drawer island bench, with a double European ceramic farmhouse butler's sink, a Parisian armoire made from old European doors as a kitchen pantry, and the entrance hallway features an antique linen cupboard and designer pigeon hole shelves sourced from an old hot water factory in Brisbane.

The stunning 80 square metre main living room on the second floor features rustic timber ceiling, with reclaimed wood exposed beams plus collared living boards and warehouse posts from the old Casino hardware store, giving a feeling of a typical Australian wool shed of yesteryear.

The three large bathrooms, one on each level, feature original clawfoot baths, antique Spanish and French encaustic tiles, exposed copper/brass piping and an old Turkish marble sink in the master ensuite.

Downstairs guests will discover original doors salvaged from the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, with the flexibility of two rooms and a full sized bathroom able to be separated from the main house if desired.  A suspended concrete slab between the floors ensures peace and privacy.

With over 450m2 of indoor/outdoor living space the property has ample room to accommodate large numbers of guests in perfect comfort.
